Services

Under the responsibility of the director of continuing education, the Service des Activités d’Apprentissage Continu (SAAC) of the CHU Sainte-Justine’s Educational Services caters to the training needs of all its health care workers by providing them with the necessary support in completing a wide variety of continuing education activities. The SAAC is responsible for overseeing the organization of all events such as: symposiums, seminars, conferences, training workshops and the different courses provided to medical and health care professionals. These events can be international, national, provincial or local in scope. They can also be held in collaboration with one or more external partners.

In line with the establishment’s mission, and depending on resource availability, the SAAC may also offer its services as an external supplier.

In collaboration with participating clinical teams, the SAAC’s staff is responsible for:

  • Recommending event venues, event brand an audiovisual equipment supplier;
  • Planning all budget requirements and monitoring financial activities to ensure budgetary balance;
  • Providing assistance in the choice of a definite event venue;
  • Finalizing contracts and liaising with the chosen establishment (hall selection, services, menus, etc.);
  • Fostering a relationship between the organizing committee, and the speakers and presenters;
  • Liaising with the coordinating teams of hotels and conference centre venues (hall selection, services, menus, etc.), graphic design houses, printers, conference speakers and presenters, audiovisual equipment suppliers, technical teams, media and hotel personnel;
  • Overseeing the administrative aspects (mailings, registrations, abstract submissions, certifications, issuing of receipts, identification badges, participant rosters, etc.);
  • Ensuring that the decisions made by the events’ different scientific committees are carried out;
  • Overseeing event operations (team coordination, travel arrangements for participants, greeting speakers, participants and exhibitors, etc.);
  • Upholding the CHU Sainte-Justine’s image of excellence by ensuring that all events are held in a professional manner.
