The CHU Sainte-Justine adheres to very strict and rigorous security standards. Every precaution has been taken to ensure that any information concerning you that you transmit to us when using secured areas of the site, such as our transactional services and online application forms, is protected against error, loss or unauthorized access. Despite these precautions, you must implement the personal security measures recommended to you on this site in order to maintain optimal protection when surfing our web site or any other Internet site.

Online Transactional Services

The rules governing our online transactional services reflect the highest industry standards, and comply with the Act Respecting Access to Documents Held by Public Bodies and the Protection of Personal Information. All transactions conducted as part of our online transactional services are encrypted during secure-environment sessions to protect the confidentiality of data exchanged between the CHU Sainte-Justine’s mainframe and the browser used with your computer or wireless device. As such, our online transactional services are only accessible when using the most recent versions of Netscape (4.6 or higher, except Netscape 6.0), and Microsoft Explorer (5.0 or higher), which support the SSL2, 128-bit protocol. SSL is an acronym that refers to Secure Sockets Layer, the protocol that permits authentication and data encryption between a web server and a browser. It provides a secure channel for the exchange of data, which can only be decoded by authorized persons.


Access to is controlled by a firewall. A firewall is a security software that filters access attempts of an Internet site as to block any unauthorized intrusion attempts.

Online Applications

Once completed, the online application forms you submit to us electronically are stored on the CHU’s centralized database. The forms are thus protected and none of the data contained within them can be intercepted by a third party. Furthermore, when an application form concerns a specific department, the application form is directed to the said department by way of a secured link. Therefore, no personal data can be intercepted by a third party.


Any messages you send via e-mail through the web site are generally not secured during transmission. It is therefore important to not include any personal or confidential information in such messages. The CHU Sainte-Justine shall not be held liable for any damages that may result from the interception, loss or modification of any messages sent via e-mail through the web site.
